The Children’s Crusade is the name given to a Crusade consisting of 30,000 orphans crossing Europe to expel Muslims from the Holy Land in 1212. There are many versions of the journey, but most begin with a French boy’s visions and bands of children following him to the Mediterranean and beyond, until they’re sold into slavery.
